One of the easiest ways to get a new look in your home without spending lots of time + money is updating or switching out hardware. Whether it’s in the kitchen, bathroom or all the doorknobs throughout the house, having an updated and cohesive look can bring about a refreshed feeling. And you probably can make it a DIY weekend project.

Here are some of my current favorite places for both classic and unique hardware:

1. Forge Hardware Studio:

If you’re going for a modern classic look, this is the place to go for reasonable prices + a selection that won’t make you lose your mind. Expect to see clean lines, lots of brass and some lucite. They also have really cool modern furniture legs which can be a small change to your furniture with a big aesthetic impact.

2. Restoration Hardware:

With more of a variety of hardware styles + pieces, at higher than average but still fairly sensible price tags, plus a well recognized name, Restoration Hardware offers an assortment that would appeal to anyone in the traditional to modern style camps, with even a few rustic choices thrown in.

3. Anthropologie:

Those who are looking to add some whimsy to their bedroom furniture or accent pieces around the home, look no further than Anthro. Prices can seem a little steep for what you are getting but as long as you realize you’re paying for uniqueness + aesthetics and not outfitting an entire space with this hardware, you’ll be fine. I have purchased several pieces of hardware + hooks from Anthropologie and they are adorable beyond belief but I wouldn’t recommend purchasing anything from there that you expecting to be using several times a day, like the kitchen or bathroom. These are places you will want something much more sturdy.

4. Rejuvenation:

So many options you’re head will spin but will probably find exactly what you’re searching for.  You may leave this site inspired or you may be even more undecided than ever. Either way, Rejuvenation does not fall short on selection in styles or finishes. Pulls, knobs, latches, unique hinges, interior or exterior door hardware; it has it all. Not to mention antique + vintage pieces, lighting +furniture sections. And if sticker shock is not a factor for you either, happy shopping!

5. Knobs ‘N Knockers:

I actually went into this store before searching online + I didn’t want to leave! Their variety is amazing! Whether you want something country, rustic, with European flair, super traditional or ultra modern, you would be hard pressed not to find something here. It is also relatively local for all you NJ/PA peeps…it’s located in Peddler’s Village. Prices can be on the high end (we’re talking $118 for a door knob set or $180 for a door knocker) but it is high quality product.

While we were in the store I overheard a couple who had bought kitchen cabinet hardware there for their shore house 10 years ago. They were back again looking for hardware for their new shore home because the pieces they previously purchased held up so well. Shops like this are the kind of places I love and trust! And obviously you get what you pay for.

Let me know what you think of these sources. Do you have any go-to places on your list? And if you are stumped for inspiration or figuring out what size and layout to use, check out my Decorating Tips and Hardware Pinterest boards.
