Clean Skin Care and Makeup- Fall 2023

Now that we have completed the last weekend of summer (wahhh!) I’m taking time to transition my clean skin care and makeup to match the needs and look of fall.

Fall is a wonderful season to transition your skincare and makeup routine. Here are a few tips to help you adapt your routine for the autumn months:

  1. Hydration is Key: As the weather becomes cooler, it’s important to focus on keeping your skin hydrated. Consider switching to a moisturizer that is richer in texture to provide the nourishment your skin needs. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, shea butter, or ceramides.
  2. Exfoliation: Fall is a great time to incorporate exfoliation into your skincare routine. Gentle exfoliation helps remove any dead skin cells and allows your skincare products to penetrate deeper. Opt for a chemical exfoliator with ingredients like glycolic acid or lactic acid for a gentle yet effective treatment.
  3. Warm Up Your Makeup: Adjust your makeup shades to match the cozy, warm tones of the season. Consider using earthy eyeshadow colors, like browns, oranges, and golds to create a fall-inspired eye look. For your lips, try darker and richer shades like berry or plum.

Remember, skincare and makeup preferences are personal, so feel free to tailor these tips to your individual needs and style preferences. Enjoy the beauty of fall while taking care of your skin and embracing the season’s trends.

Why Choose Clean?

Choosing clean, non-toxic skin care and makeup products can have a positive impact on your overall health and well-being. Here are a few reasons why many people opt for these types of products:

  1. Healthier Skin: Clean beauty products are formulated without harmful ingredients like parabens, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances that can irritate the skin. By using non-toxic products, you can minimize the risk of skin reactions, allergies, and long-term damage.
  2. Environmentally Friendly: Many conventional beauty products contain chemicals that can be harmful to the environment. Clean beauty brands tend to prioritize sustainability, using eco-friendly and biodegradable packaging, as well as sourcing ingredients responsibly, making them a better choice for the planet.
  3. Nourishing Ingredients: Non-toxic skincare and makeup products often contain natural, nourishing ingredients like plant extracts, vitamins, and antioxidants. These ingredients can provide essential nutrients to your skin, promoting a healthier complexion and enhancing its natural beauty.
  4. Transparency: Clean beauty brands are generally more transparent about their ingredients, sourcing, and manufacturing processes. This allows you to make informed choices and ensures that the products you use align with your values and preferences.
  5. Ethical Considerations: Many clean beauty brands are committed to cruelty-free practices and do not test their products on animals. By choosing non-toxic products, you can support companies that prioritize the well-being of animals and advocate for ethical standards in the industry.

Ultimately, choosing clean, non-toxic skin care and makeup is a personal choice that reflects a commitment to your health, the environment, and ethical considerations. It’s an opportunity to care for your skin while making conscious choices that align with your values.

What’s the Deal With Beautycounter?

The reason so many Beautycounter items made it onto my list is because they rigorously research and test their products for harmful chemicals and ethical practices. You can find out more about their mission HERE.

I have been with Beautycounter now for about 4 years and while I don’t make a full living off of it, I have built a small network of women who love to purchase from me and it helps add a couple hundred dollars each month to our income. Plus, the mission and the products are truly an outstanding combination!
