Start Living An Abundant Life Now

How do you envision the life you want to live? Are you where you want to be? Personally, I have been looking for a “power word” to design my life around + felt like I was always coming up short with ones that pigeon-holed me. Until I really took stock into what it was that I constantly prayed for…ABUNDANCE! Living an abundant life is my ultimate goal.

“If you are living an abundant life you are noticing + accepting all the good that has come into your life instead of focusing on the negatives.”

When most people think of abundance, they probably envision excess…money, material items, food…it can border on the line of gluttony. But hear me out. The type of abundance that I want in life is freed-up time, gratitude, wisdom, health, giving more freely, connection with God, love + patience. Do you see how abundance can apply to so many things other than money + “things”? If you are living an abundant life you are noticing + accepting all the good that has come into your life instead of focusing on the negatives.

For such a long time now I have been living in a scarcity + minimalist mindset. The minimalist aspect is incredibly helpful to the extent of limiting distractions + clutter in life, while also freeing up some financial resources. But living in a scarcity mindset has robbed me of so much joy + caused a great deal of anxiety in an already overly anxious person {that’s ME!}. I would refrain from doing anything because it would cost too much, or be too stressful, or take too much time.

While I am still not going to say “YES” to everything I am going to make sure I say “YES” to building spiritual growth habits, to making memories {without having to do it “perfectly”}, the healthy choices, the giving to + connections with others, the beautifiers…things that positively feed my life + the lives of those around me. And I will say “NO” to the downers, the doubters, the time-suckers, the meanness, the self-centeredness.

“We are not guaranteed ALL the good, ALL the time but we can always focus on our present blessings.”

We may not all have the same things but there is enough for everybody. God has enough love for us + wants us all to enjoy His blessings! But only the good + not to excess. Focus on the things that really make you happy + enjoy them! Be grateful for + take care of what you have been blessed with. So often we can take for granted things like our physical + mental abilities, careers, homes, families + connection with God. But to remain abundant in these things we must be intentional on cultivating + caring for them. We are not guaranteed ALL the good, ALL the time but we can always focus on our present blessings.

So my goal for this year is to truly produce material that helps us with creating + living an abundant life. Go into this year + every year being abundant in ALL THINGS GOOD!

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
