Guest Bedroom Makeover: Part 2

The guest bedroom makeover has been completed with the exception of still needing to sand and stain the floors and bring in a new area rug.

Since this is a beach house and the goal was for a coastal retreat feel, I went with a wall color of

Comfort Gray

(by Sherwin Williams) which is very similar to the popular Sea Salt color. I purchased it in a flat finish and made sure to get a mildew resistant base because of the beach environment. What I love most about this color is that it can transform from gray to green and sometimes have a bluish tint to it depending on the lighting. This color is much easier on the eyes and allows a feeling of calm to wash over you like the ocean waves!

An old oak dresser also received an update with off-white chalk paint and hardware spray painted in a matte black finish. I’m a big fan of contrast and the spray painted hardware looks much better than the mercury glass knobs I was originally going to replace them with. For the rest of the decor, I used objects found around the home so there was no need to purchase many new things other than the end table and some new crisp white linens (both from HomeGoods).

Had this been a bigger budget I would have gone with a new lamp and mirror, as well as additional bedding and some new wall art. But overall, not a bad update for under $125!
